Week 9

This week Baby Wilson is the size of a grape, about 1 inch long! It amazes me how quickly baby is growing, developing and changing.
Overall I'm feeling really good this week, praise God! Nausea has been so minimal compared to the last 3 weeks. It's great to have some relief.
This is the week we get to "tell the world". Telling my dad went great. There were tears around the table at breakfast. So happy that one is over though lol. Next we get to tell Mom and Dad Wilson, Britt, Jake, Rissy and then rest of both familys! Aaaahhhhh! So soon our secret will be out! Oh thank You Lord!

Week 8

Well my eighth week is just about over. This week Baby Wilson was our little bean baby, about the size of a kidney or pinto bean. I felt great over the weekend and was nauseous every other day. At some point in the week I read that though I may crave carbs, protein may possibly make the feeling go away so I've been trying that. It's seem better, but I can say that finding high protein snacks can be a challenge, especially considering my food aversions (yogurt, nuts, nut butters, beans) all high protein and easier to grab than say a chicken breast.

We started the week hoping to tell Mom and Dad Wilson our news, but it seemed every time we'd call or try to Skype it just wouldn't work out. Zack is itching to tell everyone, but it looks like our original plan of waiting till we get up to camp will have to do. I just hope we don't have the same problem up there lol. I don't know how long I can hide the size of my boobs (sorry dads) or the thickening of my waist. We are telling my dad, Mom already knows, this Friday. I found the cutest card and perfect for him. Soft blues and greens with bees on it, a velvety texture and blank on the inside. We plan to write a note letting Dad know that Baby Wilson is looking forward to meeting him in February. I really hope it goes over well. My dad is the one I'm most nervous about telling. It's all in God's hands and His timing too.

Week 7

It's Thursday morning and baby is the size of a blueberry, about 1/2 inch long, doubled from last week. Hands, feet, eyelids, the tip of a sweet little nose and tiny veins under very thin skin.  I'm forming a little "baby belly" and by the end of the day it feels tight and like I don't want to button my pants anymore.
Hopefully this is the week we can start telling people! We want to" scream it from the top of a mountain" I'm even dreaming about it.
I'm looking forward to a wonderful week and look forward to posting more as it progresses.

mind over matter

Today I decided to test a theory. I've noticed the last few days that it's not food that makes me wanna be sick, it's the thought of food. I think of food and the nauseous feeling is immediate, but when I eat I'm fine. So today I did everything I could to keep busy, head phones, working, talking, praying. I just didn't think about food, as much a possible, and it worked! I felt better today in that regard than any other day this week (week 6 that is). Praise Jesus for some relief!

Week 6

What can I say about week 6, ugh. It's been a rough few days. Nausea started on Wednesday, and just kept going till Sunday, where I had a bit of relief especially when I didn't think about food. Today I have high hopes. I refuse to feel nauseous everyday! It's horrible and disgusting and NOT FOR ME. Probably some of you women who have been pregnant before will just laugh at that last statement, but go ahead, it's still where I stand. There are some foods that I can't even think about, Greek yogurt and ginger are the two biggest ones. Two foods that before this week have been a staple in my diet. I guess I'll just have to find a new staple that doesn't make me wanna vomit lol.
We bought a book for baby this week. It was Eric Carle's Brown Bear, Brown Bear board book. It's the first "something" we've bought. We really want baby to likes books like his or her's daddy, so we intend to buy a bunch.

sense of smell

So my sense of smell is ridiculous tonight. At first I thought nothing of it,  but Zack kept insisting. When I got home the fridge smelled horrible. There was chicken I had had for a few days, I threw the whole package away, I had only used one piece and was planning on cooking the rest tonight. Zack thought it smelled fine, but I just couldn't do it. Then it was just weird things, strawberries, my gas oven, the dishes in the sink. Everything smelled so strong. After making dinner I didn't think about it again until I walked into the bathroom to get ready for bed and oh my! the smell! Lol not that kind of "bathroom" smell, but kind of mildewey. Yuck! I don't know what the deal is. I've heard about pregnant women and smells, but to experience it is a whole different thing. I do know if I was like this all the time my house would be lots cleaner. Cleaning in the am!

First Post, Week 5!

It's been an exciting week!  6:30 Saturday morning, I took my second pregnancy test and it came out positive!  WE"RE HAVING A BABY!!!!!  First time even sort-of trying, and we hit the jackpot, haha!  All my months of tracking paid off!  The first signs came about two weeks ago, so it was high hopes, and we were not disappointed!  Overall I'm feeling really good, no morning sickness or anything.  Started exercising again and it feels great!  It's amazing how much it has encompassed my thoughts and actions, from sleeping to eating to working.  All these things are being affected by the little baby growing inside me.  It's so amazing, we're so excited, and we want to tell everyone...... but we're going to wait ;-)
